Chakrata is a cantonment area located at an altitude of around 7000ft in Dehradun district of Uttarakhand. Being such an ideal destination for tourists this small town is still not a mainstream family spot. And that is what makes it the first preference of Solo Travelers especially for those who are travelling solo for the first time. Kasar Devi is a small hilltop village in the Almora District of Uttarakhand famous for its peacful vibes. Unlike other destination in this list it has not such major attractions to offer yet it is one of the first choices of solo travelers. And the sole Reason behind it is the tranquility it has to offer. Swami Vivekanand got his Spiritual Enlightenment at  Kasar Devi. It is one of the most significant Durga Temples in Uttarakhand. Kasar Devi temple is also famous for being one of the three places on Earth under the influence of the Van Allen Belt which according to research by NASA is a Powerful Electromagnetic field of Immense positive energy created by cosmic rays and Solar Wind. This Unique distinction of Kasar Devi has attracted sages, mystics and Yogis through the ages. 5) Chitkul

Chitkul village is the last inhabited place in Kinnaur region in Himachal Pradesh near Indo-China border. This village lies on the old Indian-Tibetan Trade Route. This peaceful, enchanting place is situated at the banks of Baspa River at an altitude of 3450m and is traveler’s paradise. Nearest village to this place is Sangla, which is at a distance of 28km. Surrounded by lofty snow capped mountains and large meadows with rivers close-by this is a natures treat. The orchids, jungle and grasslands make this off-beat place a uniquely blessed one. Tourists can do a lot many activities here like visiting Buddhist Kagyupa temple,  trekking to forest or nearby wildlife sanctuary, fishing, overnight camping and enjoying marvellous riverside views. Many camps set here by private companies offer soft adventure activities also. Chitkul has no petrol pumps, ATMs, banks and hospitals. Mobile network connectivity is very low too. For availing all such conveniences one has to rush to Sangla village. Best time to visit it is in months of April-May to view snow or September. It is around 570 kms from New Delhi Capital Region. No direct buses from New Delhi. Buses upto Reckong-Peo are available and from there taxis and cabs are available upto Chitkul.
